Christina Olivares is a poet and educator living in New York City. Her poetry centers on themes of love, queerness, and interculturality. She earned an MFA from Brooklyn College and a BA from Amherst College. She is the recipient of a 2010 Jerome Foundation Travel and Study Grant for Emerging Writers as well as a 2008-2009 Teachers and Writers Collaborative Fellowship. Her poem "Shining" was nominated for a 2008 Pushcart Prize. Her poems have been published in nth, The Acentos Literary Review, No, Dear, and The Brooklyn Review.
